One of the first questions we get as a web design company is, “What is your web design process?”. It’s a fair question, and one that’s actually pretty easy to answer. After all, process is (or at least it should be) the backbone of any successful business.
Our first step is to sit down with the client and get to know them and their business. We ask questions like, “What does your company do?” and “What is your company vision?”. These of course are pretty typical questions, but we also want to know, “What problems does the business solve?” and “What sets your business apart from your competitors?”. “Why should people do business with you above and beyond everyone else who provides a similar service?” These are questions that get to the heart of our clients company. I’ve been working on a number of new web site designs lately and things are going well. I’m working with WordPress, mostly, creating child themes and being able to create web sites above and beyond what my clients are looking for. I’m using photoshop and illustrator, creating logo’s and manipulating photo’s so they’re web site friendly.
I get all this done and then I go live with the website. Great! Cool! The client’s happy, everything looks great, now to get the website ranked on the search engines. [Read more…]
I’ve spoken with a lot of business owners in the last few months about website design and website development and I’ve run into a lot of fear and uncertainty. Most of them have been forced to get smart about their business. After all, today’s marketplace is volatile and uncompromising. If they don’t stay on top of it at all times they run the risk of their competitor getting the edge over them.
