With so many hosting companies out there, it’s hard to decide which one to choose.  There are very big companies like Godaddy with huge marketing budgets, and companies like Bluehost, Hostgator and Justhost that all offer relatively similar packages and prices.  There are some companies that offer websites and throw the hosting in as part of the package like Squarespace, Wix or even WordPress.com.  If you look hard enough, you could probably find thousands of companies that offer website hosting.  So, how do you choose? If you’re a WordPress developer, it’s likely you’ve used one or the other of these WordPress theme frameworks, Catalyst or Headway. You may have even used both frameworks. Or, maybe you’ve heard of them and are wondering what they’re all about. I use both frameworks almost exclusively in my designs and I wanted to write about the differences and similarities, and perhaps help you decide if they’re right for you, and which one would be best for your project.

I’ll start by saying that I use each of them differently. If a client gives me a Photoshop design, or already has a design pre-made, I typically use Catalyst. If a client wants me to make the design, I will use Headway. Here’s why. [Read more…]
