Getting more traffic to your website is important. The more visitors you have means the better opportunity for sales, right? Well, that’s part of it. You also want to make sure you have good quality content and that your content is focussed on your potential client profile. In this article you’ll learn the factors that make your content generate high quality visitors that turn into high quality leads.
Relevance
Hopefully by now you’ve done the research to determine who your target audience is. You should know some finer details too, for instance, age group, income bracket, maybe hobbies or interests. Your content should speak to that audience. If you want to attract dog owners, don’t write articles about cats! It sounds dumb, but you wouldn’t believe how many people miss sales because their content is not relevant to their target audience.
According to www.digitalestate.co.nz, you should talk in the language of your target audience using words or lingo that is relevant to their industry or social group. You can create a better connection with your target audience if you can speak on their level.
Quality
It’s important with the current search engine algorithms that writers don’t just create fluff content stuffed with keywords. If you want high quality web traffic, you must also have high quality content. You need to make sure it’s easy to read, that it’s got some length to it and that it is structured well, but that’s really the minor things.
More importantly you need to show some expertise in what you are writing about. You need to be authoritative and show that you are trustworthy. If you write an article that is purely opinion, you diminish authority because, “everyone has an opinion, so what makes your so special?”.
Share-Worthy
Have you ever wondered where 80% the content on Facebook comes from? It’s shared. Your friends were on a website somewhere, looking at recipes, do-it-yourself websites, art, comics and found something they thought everyone else should know about. You should be writing your content with this question in mind, “Is this something other people would want to share?”.
Be creative, be funny, be real and you’ll be on the right path. You could try making lists, adding fun images, make a few jokes. Anything you can do to make your content engaging and fun is more likely to get shared. When you get more shares, you get more web traffic.
Don’t Be Sneaky
If you try to trick Google, they will figure it out. If you play nice with Google, they will play nice with you. You should be writing original content, not stealing it from other people’s websites. Google has figured this trick out and will down rank your page if they catch you doing it.
You should never bait and switch your titles. For example, if you title your page about the effects of coffee and then you link the title to a product page, Google will shut that down fast. I mentioned this in the quality section above, but stuffing your content with keywords will only make your content lower quality, but it won’t be share worthy either.
Hire A Writer
With all that said, it’s easier to drive web traffic with a writer who’s been trained to do it.
